Blue Team wins and a Historic night!

With 94 young men and women total for our Christmas dinner it made this years dinner one to remember. With ever square foot of our youth room being used for seating and prayers for the food to be multiplied we saw our awesome our God is! Everyone said that this was one of the best wednesday nights ever. Great food, The Emmy and Peabody award winning A Charlie Brown Christmas cartoon, wonderful Praise and Worship by our praise band and a time of togetherness made this night a night that will be hard to top.

Blue Tsunami took home first place. They finished this contest strong and with the help of many visitors... ran away with it at the end. By the time it was all said and done, all of our teams did well. Our goal was to get calling on our friends to come and hear what God might have to be saying to them. We will be real close to having 56% of our total high school on our campus during the last 7 weeks! Praise God! The Green team took home the total offering and all 4 teams together combined for a lil over a thousand dollars! Praise God.

Over the next few weeks we will update you with what they want to do with that offering. The only rule is that the offering has to be used on something other than us! And what a heart our students have for missions!

We see our students reaching more people than ever before! I am so happy for them. God is raising up a generation of young men and women that we should invest in and be very proud of!

Our calling competition is down to this last wednesday...

as it stands all 4 teams our still in the hunt. Blue is out front with a small but reachable lead. Green has stormed into the picture and black (once the leader) is only a few thousand points behind in 3rd!

I am so looking forward to our Christmas meal. It is our way of making sure every one gets a traditional Christmas meal! Thank you church for helping out!

What a great week

Either way, God has done and is going to do a mighty work either thru you or to you!

There is no doubt that it seems that this year has flown by..

We had a tremendous fall festival...our student ministry workers (as well as the whole church) did a fantastic job.. Our student ministry has sponsored Pee Wee football along with JR High and Sr High Football on arkwest channel 3 this year. All 3 have had great seasons.. Congrats!

That was the past week(s)..

We are in an election year and I'm ready for tuesday to get here...The staleys, should have a little boy before to long.. Praise God!!

As of today..52 days until Christmas...WOO HOO...

So either you are looking back or ahead..God presence is all around us!

What a great nite we had... I can only guess to say between 265-300 was packed into the gym! Praise God for the chance to make a difference in our community! We served over 232 hotdogs and many people didn't get one!

I do pray for FBC Danville to be known as the church that changes lives! I hope last nite was an encouragement to all those who attended!

Thanks a lot to Tim Patton and Jeri Dennis for the hard work of promoting and decorating. Great job by Pastor Jaime to get some quality judges, it turned out to be a pretty tough job!

Next years planning is already underway. Tim and I will be calling a Sunday School teachers meeting soon for all of us to brainstorm on ways to improve on what is turning out to be something our community looks forward to!

Next big event is our 5th quarter..it will be Dec. 12th after our basketball home game. We tried to get as close to the end of football and the start of basketball as we could!

What a great week we have before us

I just sit and look ahead to one of the most important weeks in our churches history..With our teams going out on monday to reach and encourage our community to take part in the fall festival. Also, our teams will be able to share the good news to a town that needs it....

I hope that you will take part in this special event..12 to 1 on Monday...one hour for us to unleash the power!

Also, the staff will be heading to bentonville for the ABSC. It is a time of networking with friends..but for me.. I have to work. Being on the leadership team of the ministers network..gives me the honor to work..and work..and work!

We get back in time for Pancake day here at the church. the Lions club rocks out all day with pancakes and all the fixins....

then Tim and I have to continue to set up with the fall festival which takes place on Wednesday!

We will arrive early wednesday and leave way late.. Also, I will be doing play by play for our Pee Wee football team as they march on toward a perfect season!

I am looking forward to seeing ppl having a great time and hearing the good news about Jesus Christ!

After arriving on campus thursday we start the tear down and transition process. The I will travel to Quitman for our Jr High football game..

Arriving home way late thursday nite will be a key if I will have the opportunity to go to the CMA Fast lane 4 wheeler rally in Mena..I would have to leave here early to ride all day (which I love to do) then fly back to do play by play for the Sr. High football team that nite..

If the Pee Wee team wins we will be on air again Saturday!

The best nite ever

WOW...is to say the least.. we had 79 in worship tonight! that is 2 off our all time high! Our students did a great job of inviting their friends! Pray for them that they would keep it up~

Our door to door ministry: our first decision for Christ came tonight. Dylan Penzo, Emily Tramel and Peyton Powers got to lead a man to the Lord tonight. Peyton shared and the man accepted.. Praise God for his decision! Great job team!!! Thank you Doug Miller for leading out in this ministry. Without him this man would not have come to know Jesus!

Our Drama team had their first road show.. Man they did an awesome job. We had the privilege to be part of a wonderful service at Ranger tonight! It was their association meetings. They had something like 5 churches represented. We were treated to an awesome time of drama and singing as we arrived! Our students then got to perform ..and ..WOW.. what a great job they did. it thrilled all in attendance! Praise God! Thank you Bro. Tim and Emily for your leadership..

Also, great job by the praise and worship team. WOW! What an awesome job tonight leading us in worship. It is so easy to preach when you have such a great group of students leading the worship! Great job Jenny Redfern with your leadership in our praise band!

Thank you parents for allowing this nite to happen! May God get the glory!

Tonight is the nite

Our students are doing a great job of going door to door.. last week they got rained out but this week we will try to attack it again!

Also, tonight our drama team gets to preform at a sister church. They are going to do a great job. I can't wait to see them!

This week is the week to thank a friend for being our friend. So many times we take it for granted that those friends know it..or.. will actually always be around! So, take some time out of your day today and write your friend a note and just tell them y they are special to you!

The calling is in full swing tonight. It is points based program that we hope will encourage our students to reach their friends for Jesus Christ!

May God get all the glory..

what has been going on

Amazing stuff...

sorry I have not posted in a while..but we have been crazy busy...

Last Wednesday we started our door to door ministry.. They got to go to more than 8 houses and at least twice got to share their faith... Thank you Doug Miller for taking on that task for our student ministry to reach every home in the city limits before spring!

We are starting a new program tonight. It's called the 'calling'! Our students get points by attendance, inviting, scripture memory, offerings and other stuff.....We have been running 60-68 every Wednesday over the last month.. Our Praise Band has been awesome free stuff time has been crazy..

Our Drama team has a gig.. they will join me as we go to an area church to minister to their whole assoc. Their assoc. has a student ministry part where one night a year, I believe, they all come together...we are so looking forward to this night. They will preform only one skit but we are in the works with another church about doing more!

Praise God!

Our Sr. High discipleship time is going really well.. we have just completed a 30 day devo and now are finishing up Philippians and will start a verse by verse study of revelation. That is right .. you have read correctly. I will covet your prayers as we dig deep into God's word in a book that many scholars can't agree on portions of it's interpretations! I will do my best to let the Holy spirit guide and the scripture speak to us itself! Pray for the student who attend as they walk this path to have a firmer grasp of a tough book...

This Wednesday night

We have had an awesome morning! over 50 at the pole and 64 total at breakfast!

Thank you to all who helped! We have an awesome group of cooks who love students!

Praise God for our FCA leadeship team. They did a great job of leading this morning.. Aspen Jones, Jackie Dennis and Jenny Redfern! GREAT JOB ladies!

Tonight we are going to start our journey thru the armour of God! The shoes who bring peace!

It seems that life and peace do not go hand in hand! Well tonight we will see how God will use Christians as His instruments to bring about change! Pastor talked about turning the world upside down...for some of us.. Having peace in our life would be that upside down feeling..

Allow your students to be part of what God is doing tonight! May the God of peace move in your life!

I know we are all looking for a little routine and this week should start it. This week we will also be giving out SYATP stuff and starting our new series " Amour of God "

Praise God for all He has done! Praise God today.. Praise Him right where you are out..OUTLOUD! Lets worship Him together! Worship was pronounced Worth ship... Share with those around you how much God is worth to you! It might mean a world of difference to them!

last night was something as hurricane Ike made his way thru the natural state!

I for one fell asleep and woke up a few times to hear the big bad wolf do his best to come in.. but im glad he didn't!

I have used this week to spend time with God as I seek clarity in the direction he has for me, my family and His student ministry here .. what a great week it was.. I had the opportunity to spend countless hours in His word and was able to share, His word, with a few people..

I was able to focus on Nehemiah, Haggai, Ezra and Zechariah! I was able to get thru one book (I hoped to get thru 2) and I helped be an encourager to a buddy of mine... So, what does all this mean!

Sometimes we need to slow down and refocus on the moment... as soon as I got back in the real world, I had to shift into overdrive! I wish I could slow time down and enjoy it more!

So, today..stop and enjoy the roses for in a moment the season will change and they will be no more!

This Wednesday we will be back after it! Bro Doug will share his heart and our Praise Band will rock out!

A Run on Week

This is going to be a great week! So many students will be doing so many things this week most parents (alnog with students) heads will be spinning!

This is also going to be a wonderful week to witness. Have you asked anyone about what they think it is going to take to get them into heaven? So many people will be out at the fair..y not ask someone while your at the parade, the talent show or pageant as your sitting by them or standing in line at the fair or rooting on the littlejohns friday and tuesday night!

I know that last statement seemed to be a run on sentence.. But isn't that the same as what this week will be... a run on week.. you may happen to run on someone you haven't seen in forever.. you may run on an opportunity to encourage someone who may be having a stressful week!

You could be the difference maker!

Starting this Monday and running thru December our Sr High Discipleship group will meet at 7:10 at main street for bible study and breakfast! Jesus encouraged the disciples with breakfast.. so y not us too!

What a great week we have had! 56 students and many stayed home afraid of the mess! But why, we had a few who didn't get messy but our bible study was on the day Jesus got messy for us. We focused on the crucifixion story and how Jesus got messy so we could be clean. I do praise God for the many visitors we had and look forward to our new bible study starting this week.. Also, the drama team will have their first performance this wednesday! Thank you Ricky for bringing the fire truck down to hose us off!

PRAISE GOD!

I also want to thank Jeri Dennis for her outstanding work in getting the word out on all our events! Without her professional work no telling where we would be! So give her a call and encourage her today!

looking forward to tonight! Messy night is a night where we just want to come laugh, have fun and just get messy! I am so looking forward to seeing what kind of mess the people will bring! Not only will be it be messy you will get soaked as well!

Starting next Wednesday... Link it up. the Armour of God...In our quest to be all God wants us to be.... we will now uncover the things we have that God has given us to hold back and attack the devil! It will be a great study.. you want your student to attend!

Praise God for what He is doing and what He has done!

Ready to fight!

I have just finished another sermon on the battle that surrounds us. A quote that I have.. that I couldn't find a place for it.. comes from Lord of the Rings:Return of the King. I thought it fitting in light of the pastors message last night! Aragorn is positioning his troops to fight an overwhelming sea of enemy! As the gates opened the sea of rushing enemy soldiers was mighty impressive.. His troops started to waiver in their want to fight... Now lets pick up Aragorn's prewar speech:

Aragorn: Hold your ground, hold your ground! Sons of Gondor, of Rohan, my brothers! I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of woes and shattered shields, when the age of men comes crashing down! But it is not this day! This day we fight!

Think of the many families whose lives could be changed by God using you! You can't go anywhere where the talk isn't one of gloom, despair and agony. No matter what the future holds.. the future is NOW! You might feel overwhelmed.. maybe unprepared..I say hogwash! God's word tells us that in Matthew 10:19b-20; do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say, 20for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.

This day we must come alongside God and fight for our family, our friends and all the whosoevers that are out there! So please make a commitment this day.. make a commitment to fight!

How can you and your student join the fight, There are many ways! In our students ministry we have started a drama group. This has been in the works for about a year but finally has come to reality! Bro. Tim and Emily Patton are doing an awesome job with this! About 8-10 students are involved with this ministry. They had practice last night (awesome job) and will be performing in a week @ the Turnaround and very soon on a Sunday morning! You won't want to miss this!

We have room in our Praise Team for you! If you play an instrument or want to sing.. have we got a spot for you! Just let me or Jenny Redfern know .. we will get you involved.. no age is out of the limit....

We still need workers for Wednesday night! Upstairs we could use workers to just come in.. greet students as they show up..hang out with them, pray with them and be ready to help love on them!

I have the privilege to be part of something that I have not seen in a long time. Students really trying to reach their friends and family for Christ! In the last 2 weeks, we have been apart of 6 people coming to know Christ! How awesome is that! Some of the students are here, some are from out of town! Praise God.. I am passing the names on to a local church in their home town to do follow up! Students reaching Students.. many others have been Andrews... just bring people to Jesus..I will share more on those students later!

See, our student ministry is based on the fact that we want to see students come to know Jesus and make Him known! We are far more worried about their relationship than we worry about where they have their membership! I want to teach our students that God will place people where He needs them. We just need to be faithful in engaging our peers and community for His glory..not ours!

To see a movement of God

It is really exciting when we get to see a small part of God's big plan.. It is even greater to be apart of it when you get to see the results!

God never promises that we will get to see the fruits of our labor but we must fight the good fight and we must finish the race!

Well, last night was one of those nights that we got to see God move! Our original goal was to have messy night but due to the fact of strong storms moving into the area we had to have a change of plans! We ended up having Turnaround upstairs! What a night we had. Drew shared what God was doing in his life (and awesome job he did) and I spoke briefly on

Zephaniah 3v17 (HCS)

The LORD your God is among you,
    a warrior ^(A) who saves.
    He will rejoice over you ^(B) with gladness.
    He will bring [you] quietness ^[a] with His love.
    He will delight in you with shouts of joy."

Well, I can only imagine the party atmosphere that was going on up in Heaven! We had 2 students come to know Christ and 4 re dedications. PRAISE GOD!

Not only that, we had one of our students share with another(up on top of the inflatable slide) and they accepted Christ right then and there! PRAISE GOD!

I praise God for the faithfulness of our students to bring their friends and engage them with God's Holy word!

I now question whether I was too low on my estimate of 15 decisions for the fall and spring term. We have had 8 in the last 12 days with more to come! Praise God! Continue to pray for our student ministry as we seek to be in the middle of what God's doing!

How awesome was it to see over 200 kids in this building last night! Great job Mrs. Rhonda Connell and Greg too! Thank you also goes out to all the adults who invest so much of your time and talents to the students and children of our community! PRAISE GOD for you! Never know how God is going to use you for His purposes!

Im at a loss for words.. God is so good! Im just so not worthy of what He is doing thru the ministries of our church! May God get the glory!

The vision Part #1

As we have continued to work our way thru being a on fire Christian. We started with the minimum requirements God ask of us (Ten Commandments) to starting in September a new series on the armour God gives us to fight the good fight! We will have more on this in the coming days!

I am praying to see many students come forward and make decisions. This last Sunday we seen our first one. Praise God for her! A recent poll of graduating seniors, by Group magazine, showed us that the re commitment ranked higher in changing their life, than did when the child/student made their salvation decision! The other data that went with that was inconclusive on why?

God has placed us, as a church, with a great opportunity to catch what He is doing! Thank you so much for allowing the student ministry to be a great part of it! Many leaders have said that when revival breaks out it usually starts in the students and children. If that is the case... we better hold on as God is going to do something in our day like we have never seen.

The only thing that should be important is a person's relationship with Christ! 1 way we are going to engage this and find out where people stand is simply going after them. Something that is new for our student ministry is doing outreach on Wednesday nights! While church is going on up here, we will be going with a few students and adult(s) to share with our community! One of the best times to catch a person and talk about Jesus is when worship is going on! We have gone out during the day and realized that most people wasn't home (though one visit, allowed us see a family come Sunday)!

If things work out like I pray, we will also have a group going out during Sunday evening.. not sure on the time as of now....

As you can see we are ready to engage our community with the Gospel! Thank you for the people who have contacted me about opportunities we can have in our community! I will be getting back to you in the next day or so!

May God get the glory for great things He has done!

Is seeing enough?

In the student ministry we are committed to 1 area: Quality! I believe that everything we do has to be measured up to this standard!

Jesus never goes half way! Our God is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.. He deserves our best not leftovers!

So how does quality affect anything we do..

#1 we never set forth in a direction without it being well thought out. Doesn't mean we might not change it.. but we have a season of prayer-God gives us a goal- we work out the time line (with the end in mind at the beginning)- there is the process of the vision becoming real-the working of the vision-about 2/3rds the way thru we start this process over and look for where God is working and join with Him there! Sometimes it doesn't make sense!

Not every thing we do is a success. .but like John Maxell says " we intend to fail well"! That just means we learn and move on with the priority of God's favor being what drives us!

Everyone who is involved with your student ministry will be of one mind "To give God our best"! From the Ministry assistants, Sunday morning leaders, Drama team to our Praise Band and student leaders we will be of one mind!

That brings me to the subject line.. Is seeing enough? Hellen Keller said "It is a terrible thing to see and have no vision"! Over the next few days, I will be slowly sharing with you our vision for the fall and spring! I can't wait for you to see what God has laid out for us! This is going to be an exciting time for all of us as God molds us into who He wants us to be! This is also a new ministry direction! Many people are praying and working behind the scenes to make the plans God has for us... become real! Are you being lead to be a life changer? If so, hollar at me.. I have a spot for you!

This Wednesday night: Is messy night! Rain will not stop us but lightening will. If there is a chance that this could be strong storms we will postpone it 1 week!

Way to go church! We have had a couple of people over the last few days accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior! PRAISE GOD! Keep up the great work! God is ready to use you next!

Not being to focused

Crazy to think it.. But sometimes being so focused causes us to miss the little things going on around us!

I was reading Deacon the story of the good Samaritan! You had a person who needed a helping hand... He was beat up and robbed of everything.. People passed by him without giving a second thought to his needs. They had a place to be and didn't want to get involved. Have you ever heard that before? Not to say that their destination was not of GREAT importance.. But to say that there was not enough time in their schedule or that helping that guy would have been a huge distraction!

Well Praise God someone stopped! The guy still needed to get to where he was going but he took the time to help clean and bandage the wounds. He paid the inn keeper to watch over him and he would check back with him to make sure he paid enough for the guys care!

Many of us have said that we have 1 person on our heart to reach. I pray that as you try and make contact with that one, you will not miss the others who may be wounded, hungry, off track, discouraged and in the ditch of life. That maybe the very person God has for you to reach!

Our students went door to door lil over a week ago.. Praise God one of the families that we invited to church showed up Sunday! How many more are waiting to be asked? If you know of someone.. go ask them.. tell us about your visit... and allow us to join with you along this awesome task as we pray that God will find us faithful! More on our vision in the days to come!

T minus 1 day and counting

School is less that 24 hours away! For many it will be a return to a routine for others it will be just a struggle to juggle everything they have on their plate!

I do praise God that many of our students do see it as a mission field and have more than just academics on their mind. It is already awesome to see students sharing their love of Christ with their peers.

May God continue to be honored by His peoples obedience!

As we embark on a great school year.. let us remind ourself of what God has done this summer:

* Greatest church camp in our brief history. A spirit of brokenness and purpose!

*Mission trip where He allowed us to see 154 people come to know Christ!

* Changed lives and hearts

*30 day challenge to reach 1 person for Christ!

Many of us will look back on this summer as the summer Jesus became more than a story to us! Our student ministry here can and will never be the same! Praise God for what He is doing thru us!
